About this tool
Takes a speech-to-text draft and removes fillers such as 'um' and 'uh', repeated words, and runaway spacing, leaving readable sentences. It works by rules, so nothing is sent anywhere and it costs nothing.
When to use it
- —Starting to turn a raw transcript of a meeting recording into minutes
- —Stripping verbal tics out of an interview transcript before pulling quotes
- —Preparing a draft before writing video subtitles
Good to know
- —Removing fillers also removes nuance such as hesitation and speech rhythm. Use the original where a quote must be verbatim.
- —It does not decide where sentences begin and end; paragraph breaks are still your job.
- —Words the transcriber heard wrong in the first place are not corrected here.
