About this tool
Translates between Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. The translation model (NLLB) is downloaded into your browser and runs on your device, so the source text is never sent to a server. That makes it usable for internal documents or unpublished drafts you cannot hand to an outside service.
When to use it
- —Translating an unreleased proposal or draft contract without uploading it anywhere
- —Getting the gist of a foreign-language document quickly
- —Working on an unreliable connection after downloading the model once
Good to know
- —The first run downloads the model, which takes time and bandwidth; later runs load it straight from cache.
- —It is a compact on-device model and is less accurate than large commercial translators. Anything where a mistranslation is costly, such as legal or medical text, needs human review.
- —Longer passages give the model more context but also take longer to process.
