About this tool
Converts Markdown into HTML and HTML back into Markdown. It saves retyping when the place you wrote a document and the place you are pasting it use different syntax. Conversion happens inside the browser and your draft is not sent anywhere.
When to use it
- —Posting a note written in Markdown to a board that only accepts HTML
- —Tidying formatted text copied from a web page into a Markdown document
- —Checking what the HTML for a README table or list looks like
Good to know
- —Markdown has no single standard; extensions such as footnotes or math may not carry across.
- —Going from HTML to Markdown drops tags with no Markdown equivalent, such as layout divs and inline styles.
- —Risky elements like script tags are stripped for safety, so compare the result against your original.
