About this tool
Brings a video's audio loudness to the EBU R128 standard. Working from perceived loudness makes it the right tool for matching several videos to each other. Files never leave the browser.
When to use it
- —Keeping episodes of a series consistent in loudness
- —Meeting a platform's loudness target before uploading
- —Tidying a video whose level jumps from scene to scene
Good to know
- —R128 is a broadcast standard and platforms use slightly different targets, so check where you are publishing.
- —Video with an extreme gap between quiet and loud passages is not fixed by normalization alone.
- —If the audio was recorded loud enough to distort, lowering it later leaves the distortion in place.
