About this tool
Smooths out handheld footage that shakes. It measures the movement between frames and shifts the picture slightly to cancel it. Files never leave the browser.
When to use it
- —Making walking footage comfortable to watch
- —Cleaning up a short clip that still has hand shake
- —Tidying an interview shot without a tripod
Good to know
- —Because the picture is shifted to cancel shake, the edges get cropped and the field of view narrows a little.
- —Severe shake or sudden direction changes can survive the correction or leave the frame looking like it is swimming.
- —Every frame is analyzed in the browser, so long videos take a long time.
