About this tool

When to use it
- —A page loads slowly because its photos are heavy
- —Hitting an attachment size limit in email or a messenger

Good to know
- —Compression is not reversible; raising quality afterwards will not bring back discarded detail, so keep the original.
- —Pushing quality too low creates blotchy bands in smooth gradients such as sky or skin.
- —Images full of text or flat shapes get ragged edges under JPEG compression, where PNG may serve better.
