About this tool
Adds a text watermark to an image, or blurs out one already there. Position and opacity are adjustable so you can mark provenance without burying the picture. Processing finishes inside the browser and the photo never leaves it.
When to use it
- —Publishing your own photography with an attribution mark
- —Stamping 'draft' on review images so they are not mistaken for finals
- —Marking preview images sent to a client before delivery
Good to know
- —A watermark makes unauthorized use harder but does not prevent it; assume removal can be attempted.
- —Stripping a watermark from someone else's work and using it may infringe copyright. Use this on your own images.
- —Too little opacity disappears when the image is scaled down; too much ruins the photo.
