About this tool
Converts audio to MP3, WAV, OGG, or M4A, so you can match whatever a player or an upload rule accepts. Conversion happens inside the browser and the file is never transmitted.
When to use it
- —Your recorder's format cannot be opened by your editing software
- —An upload rule accepts only MP3
- —Moving to lossless WAV to use as an editing master
Good to know
- —MP3, OGG, and M4A are lossy, so recompressing an already compressed file degrades it further. Keep editing masters as WAV.
- —WAV is uncompressed and much larger; it is a poor choice for distribution.
- —Converting a compressed file to WAV does not restore quality that was already lost.
