About this tool
Finds silent stretches automatically and cuts them out, trimming long gaps between speech and dead time at the head and tail. Processing finishes inside the browser.
When to use it
- —Cutting long pauses out of a solo recording to shorten it
- —Removing waiting time from an interview recording
- —Tightening a lecture recording so it takes less time to listen to
Good to know
- —Setting the silence threshold too high also cuts quietly spoken parts. Always listen to the result.
- —Removing even the short breaths between sentences leaves no room to follow and can hurt comprehension.
- —Recordings with constant background noise make silence hard to detect; denoising first helps.
