About this tool

Separates vocals from accompaniment by exploiting the difference between a stereo track's left and right channels — center-placed sound and wide sound are recorded differently. Processing finishes inside the browser.

When to use it

  • —Making an instrumental version to practice against
  • —Isolating a vocal line to study it
  • —Reducing voices in background music for a video

Good to know

  • —This is channel-difference separation rather than AI separation, so vocals usually leave audible traces rather than disappearing.
  • —It barely works on mono recordings or mixes where the vocal is spread wide.
  • —Publishing or selling a separated result requires checking the original song's copyright and licensing.
